Meet The Team

Stephen is proudly one of the co-owners of Buller And Rice., His hairdressing career began over 20 years ago in his hometown of Swansea, Wales which eventually brought him to East London where he has now worked for nearly 15 years.
This is where he met his business partner Anita Rice, and where the magic of Buller And Rice was formed! He along with Anita are very proud to be the owners of London’s first sustainable hair salon, as ethical hairdressing is the heart of the business.
Stephen’s passion is focused on cutting, with a methodical, structured approach to hairdressing. His aim is to achieve realistic expectations, with hairstyles that you can manage at home but can also embellish your identity. This can be subtle, statement or somewhere in between. Stephen is confident and experienced in all styles and textures.
Stephen has 2 Brussels Griffon dogs, Cyril and Stanley. Cyril accompanies them to the salon most days. He’s an influencer and much more famous than Stephen!

Anita is originally from a town on the east coast of New Zealand’s north island, called Tauranga. She’s now lived in London for the best part of 15 years.
Anita is one-half of Buller and Rice (the rice part). With 24 years of hairdressing experience, there is not much she can’t tackle. She can/will do almost anything (hair-related) however… she draws the line when it comes to over-processed hair. Hair health is a key part of her offering!
Arguably London’s most sustainably minded hairdresser, her passion lies within green chemistry & regenerative farming. With a wealth of knowledge about active botanicals, she is undoubtedly your go-to for in-depth treatments and product recommendations.
You used to be able to find her in one of London’s many dive bars, now she’ll only be spotted in the best natural wine bars London has to offer. You may also spot her with her majestic ‘Chow chow’ Yoko who is unmissable!
Wanstead

Fran is one of our lead stylists at our Newington Green salon. She is a talented stylist with many years in the industry backing her. She began working as a salon assistant as a teenager and now has over 20 years of experience within the industry. She’s a London native and has spent much of her career working within Stoke Newington, with a loyal client base to prove it.
She’s a blonde expert, specialising in long-lasting blended blondes which are tailored to each individual with absolute precision. She also enjoys chic short haircuts and an array of bob styles!
She is currently studying for her ‘Davines International Colour Genius qualification’ this qualification will elevate her colour knowledge and skills to a master level.
Fran enjoys travelling and spends a lot of time planning and researching the most exciting places around the world she can visit throughout the year, she also enjoys art galleries and swimming in her spare time.

Millie is a senior stylist and branch manager at our Walthamstow branch. She's been hairdressing for 10 years and is a whizz across the board with all salon services but the styles that make her heart sing are shaggy layers, fine bright highlights, and big hair changes!
She's an E17 local, has a little cat Tofu and she's your go-to for all vegan related foodie tips!

Rebecca is one of our senior stylists at our Newington Green Salon, she has over 20 years of experience within the hairdressing industry as a result she is confident with a variety of different hair types and she has the skills to prove it.
Rebecca is originally from Yorkshire, she has a warm, bright spirit that will make you feel welcome and comfortable as soon as you sit in her chair. She is well versed in all cutting techniques, some of her favourite styles are razor cuts, shags, and clean sharp bobs. She also enjoys bespoke colour services to enhance her client’s natural tones.
Rebecca is a social butterfly so naturally In her spare time she loves good food & drinks and spending quality time with friends, you can find her trying out the best spots in London!

Suzy is born and bread Londoner, hailing from the all mighty Camden. She’s been in the hair industry for 9 years so naturally she is a passionate stylist and a master of her craft, specialising in vibrant colours, coppers, and buttery balayages. Suzy has a gorgeous puppy named ‘Poppy ’ who is a Brussels griffon, she enjoys spending her free time with her and her partner Paul, who is also a part of the Buller and Rice family. Suzy is a devout Arsenal fan and loves a craft beer in the garden!
You can find Suzy in both our Walthamstow and Wanstead salons, she has an impeccable calm & comforting presence, and you will be in the most capable of hands.

Robyn is a stylist at our Wanstead salon, she is originally from Durban South Africa & has now lived in London for 9 years. She began hairdressing 13 years ago however took a hiatus from the industry for a few years to qualify as a tattoo artist and piercer!
Robyn enjoys creative colours & equally loves dimensional work i.e. balayages and natural sun-kissed blondes.
She is perfecting the process of transitioning clients from coloured or bleached hair to their natural grey, she’s passionate about guiding her clients toward embracing their natural hair. Cutting wise she enjoys shags, mullets, and layered hairstyles, whilst also loving a sharp blunt bob!
In her spare time, she is very active, you can find her roller skating at the skatepark, at a gymnastics class, or training in acrobatics with her best friend.
She also loves to make and create things, whether it's a drawing, making something to house her plants, or refurbishing a table. She loves a bit of DIY!
Wanstead

Izzy is our stylist in our E17 salon. She has been hairdressing for 8 years. Izzy is known for her blunt bobs and precision cuts, she loves anything sharp.
Izzy also loves creating solid fresh colours by using the tint technique. Izzy in her spare time enjoys letting loose to electronic music and dancing till sunrise.
Izzy is part of the LGBTQIA community and is also an advocate for empowering and uplifting people.
Walthamstow

Originally from Ireland, then Birmingham, Ciara is a passionate an innovative stylist who specialise in all hair textures and is a wizard at cutting & styling.
She truly listens to her clients needs and takes time to understand their lifestyle, personality, and hair type to tailor each service, whether they are after a dramatic transformation or a subtle refresh
