We know the salon experience isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we want to make sure your appointment works perfectly for you. Here is everything you need to know before visiting us.
Booking & Appointments

We have different time slots for different services. If you are unsure what to book, please drop us an email or call. We want to give your hair the time it deserves, and booking the wrong service might mean we don't have enough time to accommodate you on the day.

We advise that all large colour changes or correction appointments are made via phone call. We may ask you to attend a free consultation prior to booking to determine the length of your appointment and to provide an accurate quote.

Fringe trims are charged at £10. Please call in advance to schedule. While walk-ins are occasionally available, you may be asked to return at a later time. On Saturdays, we can only accommodate fringe trims if booked in advance.

We offer half-price haircuts for children aged 5 to 10, available only before 4pm on weekdays. Appointments for under-5s, weekends, or outside of these timings are charged at full price.
Please book children's cuts via phone; if booked online under your own name, the appointment will be charged at full price.
Lateness & Cancellations

We provide a 10-minute grace period. If you think you will be late, please notify us in advance via phone call. We can only hold the appointment for 10 minutes before it starts affecting other appointments that day.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, we appreciate as much notice as possible. We only accept cancellations via phone or email in advance – please do not message us on social media.

Cancelling or rearranging within 48 hours incurs a 50% cancellation fee. If you do not turn up to your appointment, you will be charged in full.

If you have mobility needs or require step-free access, please let us know. Some of our spaces have stairs or tighter areas, so we will make sure the setup is right for you on the day.

If you are sensitive to sound, light, or busy environments, we can recommend quieter times, adjust music levels, or tailor the experience for a calmer vibe.

Not in the mood to chat? That is totally fine. You are welcome to enjoy your appointment in peace with no pressure to make conversation.

If you would rather not face the mirror, we are happy to cover or remove it, and no explanation is needed.

If you are having a low day, you are absolutely still welcome here. There is no pressure to be “on,” and we will meet you where you are at.

You are always welcome to share your name and pronouns, and we will always respect them.
Visiting the Salon

Babies are always welcome in the salon. Just give us a heads up when you book so we can make plenty of space for prams and ensure we're ready to fuss over them properly.

Well-behaved dogs on a lead are very welcome here, too—please just let us know in advance so we can prepare a spot for them. On the flip side, if you feel uncomfortable around dogs, simply give us a call when making your appointment and we’ll happily advise on a dog-free time that suits you.

At Walthamstow, we have two parking spaces at the rear (entry via the narrow alleyway at 167 Hoe Street; follow it left to the spaces with the new wooden fence, then walk back around to the front entrance). At Newington Green, there is no customer parking, but we recommend the Pay and Display bays on the Hackney side for better rates. Our Wanstead salon has RingGo parking directly outside, which charges only 30p for the first hour.

Not sure which stylist is right for you? Email hello@bullerandrice.com outlining your hair type and desired results, and we will recommend the perfect professional. We have specialists in curly and textured hair, fine or thick hair, blondes and balayage, barbering, and complex needs like hormonal or medication-induced hair loss.

We always allow extra time for a full consultation to understand your wishes. However, if your service hasn't turned out exactly as discussed and you are unhappy, we will happily amend it complimentarily. We just ask that you notify us within 2 weeks of your appointment.
